Heritage Manor News: Attention family members

(Editor’s Note: The following article was submitted by Patricia Duplechin, resident activity director at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ville Platte. This column runs every Sunday in The Gazette.)
We are excited about our resident/family Christmas parties this week. Our big event is on Wednesday, December 16, at 4 p.m. in the dining room. Live music will be provided by Edward Thibodeaux and the Acadian Jammers. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be making their annual appearance and passing out gifts to all of our residents. We ask that family members call ahead to let us know how many to expect for seating arrangements. If you plan to bring a covered dish, it would be appreciated. To all those that participated in the “adopt a resident” program, please bring the gifts to the activity office by Monday, December 14. Many thanks to all area churches, students, volunteers and organizations that donated for this event.
The staff of Heritage Manor welcomes Sheila Daire, Alena Fontenot and Helen Lewis to the facility.
Other activities this week include Come Lord Jesus group, manicures, group exercise, bingo sponsored by the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Community Prayer Line service, Silver Eagle social, mass and Christmas caroling by area CCD students.
We thank Fernella Saucier for coming to the facility to share ceramics with our staff and residents. Everyone truly enjoyed this activity.
Good luck to all that entered the Christmas door decorating contest. Judges will be announcing the winners next week. Many thanks to all area merchants who donated food for the resident parties this month. We appreciate all you do for us. Looking for a rewarding pass time? Call about volunteering at the facility.
