Heritage Manor News: February is a short but busy month
(Editor’s Note: The following article was submitted by Patricia Duplechin, resident activity director at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ville Platte. This column runs every Sunday in The Gazette.)
February is actually going to be a leap year. So anyone born on February 29, will be excited to have a real birthday celebration on the actual date. We congratulate our February Resident of the Month Bobby Joyce Sylvester and Employee of the Month Christina Phillips. Congratulations also to Latoya Lavigne, winner of the hat contest.
The monthly resident birthday party will be held Wednesday, February 10, at 2 p.m. in the activity room. Family and friends are encouraged to attend.
The Mardi Gras party will be held Tuesday, February 9, beginning at 2 p.m. with the crowning of the new Heritage Manor king and queen. The new royalty will represent the facility at the regional pageant in the near future.
The activity department is holding its annual sucker sale in observance of Valentine’s Day. If you are interested in purchasing suckers, please contact the activity department. All proceeds will go to funding for future outings and spring activities.
Super Bowl 50 will be held on Sunday, February 7. Good luck to all on the pools.
Activities this week include Come Lord Jesus group, in-room visits, manicures, food committee meeting, pokeno, bingo sponsonred by the VVA, snack toss, piano playing and gospel singing, cookie bake, group exercise and mass.
