Heritage Manor News: Happy Easter to all!

(Editor’s Note: The following article was submitted by Patricia Duplechin, resident activity director at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ville Platte. This column runs every Sunday in The Gazette.)
Easter is the most significant day of the Christian faith. The resurrection of Jesus means that life is stronger than death, love is greater than hatred, grace is more powerful than violence and hope is more potent than hopelessness. The message of Easter is God is in charge, even when it seems as if evil forces of death and hatred are in control. Penance is always our way of trying to show God our love and appreciation for all that he did for us. Sacrifices, such as these make us stronger in our faith. We thank the Ville Platte Cajunettes for their continued devotion to our residents. Each year, dyeing Easter eggs is something the residents look forward to doing with them. Bunny bingo is also a favorite among the residents each year on Good Friday. Many thanks to Lou Vidrine for her donation.
Activities this week include Come Lord Jesus group, manicures, group exercise, in-room visits, bingo sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, rosary, jingo and ice cream party.
Many thanks to Verna Guillory and her helpers for the annual Way of the Cross held on the morning of Good Friday.
The staff of Heritage Manor welcomes Janice Hebert and Leona Robertson to the facility.
The staff of Heritage Manor sends get-well wishes to our loved ones in the hospital, Nazari Hernandez and Nancy Pitre.
We encourage all of our active volunteers to contact us about seating arrangements for our annual volunteer appreciation supper in April.
