18-year-old charged with institutional vandalism at local cemetery

Ville Platte 18-year old Zackery M. Johnson was arrested on April 7, 2016 for committing institutional vandalism at Evangeline Memorial Park in March.
The vandalism that took place at the cemetery owned by Rodney Jenkins and his daughter Sharon Blankenship on March 23rd consisted of removed flowers and vases from the mausoleum, bent vase rings, and a broken marble mausoleum plaque.
The following day, more vandalism was discovered at the cemetery located on Chataignier Rd.
After the second act of vandalism, a jacket, cookie wrappers, and a pile of wood that looked to have been burned was discovered.
Johnson was arrested by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, and his bond was set by 13th Judicial District Judge Chuck West at $25,000.00.
