Ville Platte Police Department recently made a drug bust after receiving an anonymous tip.
In a press release, Chief Neal Lartigue states that on May 18, 2016, VPPD officers and detectives made an arrest involving narcotics at a residence on North Chataignier due to information from the tip. Carolanda Williams, 42, of 514 North Chataignier was charged with possession with intent to distribute schedule II, possession of drug paraphernalia, six counts of illegal use of CDS in the presence of a juvenile, carrying of a firearm by a convicted felon, violation of CDS and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.
Williams was booked into the Ville Platte City Jail on a $123,000.00 bond and was later transferred to the Evangeline Parish Jail.
Chief Lartigue would like to remind all citizens that calling in information is anonymous and could help remove offenders and dangerous narcotics from our streets. If you have any information on any type of illegal activity, call the VPPD at (337) 363-1313.
