VPPD makes drug bust at apartment

According to a press release by the Ville Platte Police Department, on Tuesday September 15 the Investigations Division of the VPPD received an anonymous tip reporting narcotic activity in an apartment on North Chataignier Street.
After obtaining more information detectives obtained a search warrant and searched the reported apartment. Upon arrival detectives and officers found two large weed plants, cocaine, baggies of weed, rollers, grinders and a scale. Authorties arrested Darius Thomas, 21, and Deontre Thomas, 18, both of 1123 North Chataignier Apt. 8 Ville Platte.
Both suspects were transported to the Ville Platte City Jail and later transferred to the Evangeline Parish Jail where they remain incarcerated on a bond of $40,000.00 each issued by Judge Gary Ortego.
On September 3, 2015 VPPD responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at a local business. The vehicle had hooked up a camper and was leaving the business with the camper. Officers arrived as the vehicle was leaving with the camper and a short pursuit began.
Officers stopped the vehicle shortly after crossing the parish line into St. Landry Parish. Arrested and charged with unauthorized entry of a place of business and theft were Kenneth Taylor, 48, and Deidra Taylor, 47, both of 201 Tournoir Street, Lafayette. Bond was set at $90,000.00 for each.
After a further investigation and collected evidence, warrants were also issued for Wilson J. Marshall, 28, of 110 Gilbert Street, Lafayette who was arrested on an unrelated incident in another parish and is awaiting extradition on a $75,000.00 bond.
The following three suspects are wanted on a $75.000.00 bond. Mariah Stiner, 28, of 208 ½ Allen Street, Lafayette, Denzel Alexander, 25, of 727 Hank Street, Breaux Bridge and Robert Ryan, 50, of 201 14th Street, Lafayette.
