Mother transported back to Mamou on kidnapping charge

One week after Elaine Freeman abducted 12-year old Jalon Bradley from Mamou High School, the Mamou Police Department transported the 34-year old back to Mamou from Hinds County, Mississippi where she was being held by law enforcement.

The Ville Platte Police Department turned a night of providing crowd control into a multiple drug arrests.

VPPD arrests juveniles for break-ins

The Ville Platte Police Department has arrested four juveniles in connection of multiple vehicles being broken into at a parking lot at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Church during Sunday mass.

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported 21 recent bookings into the parish jail. Arrested were the following persons:
•Tyrone Joseph, 39, 1032 Oak Patch, Ville Platte, was arrested on February 28, 2016 for simple assault. Joseph’s bond has been set at $2,500.00.
