LA REINE ET LE ROI CROWNED - In the first photo, Andrus Chapman, 92, was crowned as the new Le Roi of Heritage Manor Nursing Home and in the second photo, Bobbie McCauley, 76, was crowned as La Reine. They were crowned by Queen Cotton LXI Karlee Farris during the Contradanse kick off to the Cotton Festival held Monday evening October 19, at the Northside Civic Center. Chapman is a native of Belaire Cove and was raised on a cotton farm. He has been a resident of Heritage Manor for six years. He has one child, two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was a farmer and also a driver for Ardoin’s Funeral Home for 26 years. He is a veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart for the injuries he received while in Germany. He enjoys participating in the Senior Olympics, attending mass, praying the rosary, bingo, outings. He also served as Le Roi in 2009 and Heritage Manor king in 2011. McCauley, a native of Mamou, has been a resident of Heritage Manor for two-and-a-half years. She has one child, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She worked as an office manager. Her hobbies include leading the rosary for residents, attending mass, socials, games, reading, music, parties, outings and watching football. She was also crowned La Reine in 2013 and is the current Heritage Manor queen.

A very excited Bobbie McCauley happily accepted the crown as the 2015 La Reine for the Cotton Festival. She will enjoy attending the queen’s coronation and riding in the parade this weekend.
