Phase I of the Sacred Heart Trojan football season has been completed. Now it is time to begin Phase II.
In his book Just Taking Orders, Clyde Vidrine references six-man football played at Chataignier High School back in the 1950s and 60s. Lee Ray Johnson confirmed this historical aspect as he and fellow Chataignier student J. D.
Ville Platte High Principal Melanie Miller is standing behind her decision to change the school’s homecoming qualification requirements.

A 4H Skeet Shoot and Project Expo will be held Saturday, September 30 at the Chauncey Pitre Barn on the Vidrine Road near Ville Platte to help defray expenses for the Evangeline Parish 4H Shooting Sports program.

The 46th Annual Cajun Music Festival was held this past weekend at the Mamou Recreational Center Complex. The festival attracted huge crowds both days for its traditional Cajun bands, games, and workshops.
