Duhon
On Wednesday, the Pine Prairie Police Department released a statement regarding the arrest of Jimmie D. Duhon for indecent behavior with a juvenile.

New royalty was crowned Saturday, at the Louisiana Tournoi Pageant. The newly crowned queens were Miss Samara Lafleur, Miss Charlie Bieber, and Miss Holly Kay.

The Evangeline Parish School Board was introduced to the Bayou Chicot Cheerleading team during its bi-monthly meeting last Wednesday.
The junior high cheer squad was in attendance at the meeting to announce that three of its cheerleaders had been selected as All-American Cheerleaders.

EUNICE – It was a battle to the end as Sacred Heart of Ville Platte scored with 2:07 left in the game to lift the Trojans to a 29-21 win over rival St. Edmund.
MAMOU – Basile and Mamou went to war Friday night with both teams looking for their first win of the season. The two teams exchanged blows the entire contest, with Basile delivering the final punch in a 16-14 win.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Lanell Rushing was held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 30, 2017 in the Pine Prairie Christian Tabernacle. Reverends Barry Gautreaux, Johnny Wilkinson and Chris Juneau officiatied.
