Basile High wrestling team competes at state tourney

Culminating an outstanding season for the Basile Bearcat wrestling team, nine BHS
grapplers placed in the top nine at the recent Louisiana High School Athletic Association's
Division III Wrestling Meet held in Shreveport. Leading the list of Basile wrestlers were
Gavin Christ, who captured the state championship at 126 pounds with a final season
record of 42 wins and 2 losses, and Brenan Langley, who won state runner-up at 113
pounds with a season record of 23 wins and 6 losses.
Other Bearcats placing at the state meet included Isaac Cortez, third place at 138
pounds with a record of 25-4; Blake Menier, fourth place at 106 pounds with a season
record of 27-14; Hunter Langley, fifth place at 120 pounds with a record of 20-16; Dawson
Ashford, sixth place at 145 pounds with a record of 14-10; Cole Sonnier, seventh at 132
pounds with a record of 7-7; Logan David, eighth place at 152 pounds with a record of 22-
12; and Gabe Duplechin, ninth place at 182 pounds with a record of 26-17.

11, Ethan Langley (106 JV) 17-14; Alex Menier (106 JV) 5-3; Isaac Ingram (113 JV) 2-4;
