Bearcats remain perfect with a 34-0 whipping of Trojans

Basile, fourth ranked in Class 1A, crushed the East Beauregard Trojans 34-0 in a league 4-1A title. The win keeps Basile at 8-0 overall and 5-0 in league play.
While the offensive production was evident on the scoreboard, it was the Basile defense that simply stole the show. Basile held East Beauregard, who was 6-1 coming into this game, to just 117 yards of total offense.
“Our front seven is really playing well right now,” said Basile Head Coach Tony Bertrand. “We are playing as a team.”
Bertrand was not kidding. On both sides of the football the Bearcats were on fire. Kendrick Ceasar led the offensive drive. He carried the ball 15 times for 169 yards and he scored three times. Mark Ivory threw for 119 yards and was nine of 13. Ivory helped Basile put up one of the most balanced attacks they have put up all year. The team put up a total of 328 yards on offense.
Basile is now set for a showdown with Elton in Basile. The Indians are 4-4 overall and 3-2 in district.
