Bears to introduce Panthers to 5-3A

Pine Prairie (2-3) faces a tough task in their first District 5-3A contest. The Church Point Bears (3-2) are coming to town.
The Bears are coming off of a big 16-14 win over North Vermilion. Senior quarterback Jake Morvant is the key. After missing all of last year with a week one injury, Morvant has found the keys to success for the CPHS. The duo that runs the machine is senior running backs James Bellard and Trevor Breaux. Both have the ability to break away and score at any point. The Bears are putting up 23 points a game and holding opponents to just 18 points.
Stopping the Bears from scoring will be very tough, but the Panthers may be able to score with them. If Douglas Fontenot and Cade Vidrine can get going early and the PPHS offensive line can hold up the CPHS defensive line. It could turn out to be a PPHS upset.
Kickoff is set for 7 pm. in Pine Prairie.
