Bears plow past Panthers

The heavily-favored Church Point Bears came to Pine Prairie Friday night and didn’t waste anytime introducing the Panthers to Class 3A fooball. Church Point rattled off 36 points and let their defense and special teams do the talking. The offense continuously got the advantage of short field situations and used that to their advantage.
Pine Prairie did manage to get a score in during the third quarter. It was an impressive drive that was put together and sustained on good runs from Douglas Fontenot, Dylan Doucet and Vontrevis Thomas. In the end, it was a Cade Vidrine pass to Doucet for the only score of the night.
The 34-6 loss puts PPHS at 2-4 on the year and a road trip to Ville Platte is awaiting them next week for the VPHS homecoming.
