Boy's Basketball Brackets Delayed

The LHSAA has delayed the announcement of the 2017 boy's basketball bracket announcement until sometime Wednesday evening. According to the organization, an LHSAA member school is appealing the decision of the Executive Director as it pertains to a decision made for a forfeiture and suspension of athletes. The next steps for appeal are an LHSAA Sportsmanship Hearing with potential for an emergency appeal to the LHSAA Executive Committee immediately following. This said, the tournament brackets for Boys' Basketball will not be released until this is resolved. How much that will affect the seeding for the parish basketball teams remains to be seen. As of Monday, Ville Platte High found themselves as the No. 4 seed in Class 3A, while Pine Prairie held the No. 27 seed. In Class 2A, Mamou was seeded No. 8. Sacred Heart found themselves as the No. 23 seed in Division III and Baslie sat at the No. 26 seed in Class 1A.
