The Gazette's 2015 All-Parish Football Teams

The Ville Platte Gazette’s 2015 All-Parish Football Team.

First Team Offense
Tray David, QB, Basile
The senior quarterback helped lead the Bearcats to an overall record of 10-2 and a quarterfinal appearance. David passed for 540 yards and seven touchdowns this past season.

Gabe Fontenot, RB, Basile
The District 5-1A and Evangeline Parish Most Valuable Player produced one of the most prolific seasons in Basile history, rushing for 1,951 yards and 25 touchdowns.

Daylon Jones, RB, Ville Platte
Jones, an all-district selection, helped to propel the Bulldogs to the first round of the playoffs in 2015. Jones rushed for 994 yards on 225 carries and five touchdowns.

Kaybrien Ardoin, WR, Ville Platte
The sophomore wide receiver had a break out year for the Bulldogs in 2015. Ardoin led all Ville Platte receivers in yardage and accumulated an average of 24.2 yards a catch.

Lil Paul Williams, WR, Mamou
Williams was one of the bright spots for the Demons this past season. The sophomore wide receiver used his athletic ability to help lead the Demon offense average over 20 points a game.

Ty Walker, TE, Basile
The senior Bearcat tight end was a first team all-district selection, collecting 205 yards through the air. However, it was his steady performance as a blocker that helpled lead his team to a 10-2 season.

Garrett Johnson, OL, Basile
Johnson, an honorable mention all-district selection, was part of the Bearcat offensive attack that amassed over 3,000 total yards on the season and a quarterfinal appearance.

Ellis LaHaye, OL, Sacred Heart
The most solid performer on the offensive line for the Trojans, the junior helped to produce two 400 yard rushers and allowed Sacred Heart to rush for over 1,400 total yards.

Jordan Leday, OL, Ville Platte
The senior offensive lineman and four-year starter, created huge holes leading to a Bulldog offense that produced 1,786 yards of rushing in 2015.

Colby Leggett, OL, Pine Prairie
A steady part of an offensive unit, the sophomore lineman created room for two of the most explosive backs in Panther history. With Leggett up front Pine Prairie had over 1,900 yards of total offense.

Rylie Nezat, OL, Basile
The senior offensive lineman was a valuable reason for the success of the Basile Bearcats in 2015. Nezat helped the Bearcats to average over 25 points per game and 300 yards of offense per contest.

Terez Alfred, ATH, Ville Platte
The senior player produced 721 yards of offense as a passer, runner and receiver for the Bulldogs this year. Alfred also had over 200 yards of kick returns and scored 11 touchdowns on the year.

Alec Gotro, K, Sacred Heart
As a freshman, Gotro was the most accurate kicker in the entire Parish. Gotro was 14 out of 16 in extra points, making him 90 percent in points after touchdown.

First Team Defense
Josh Fontenot, DL, Pine Prairie
A three-way player for the Panthers, Fontenot co-led Pine Prairie in tackles with 108 . The senior also recorded six tackles for loss and two fumble recoveries.

Vondarius Freeman, DL, Ville Platte
Freeman was named the most valuable player for District 5-3A with 90 tackles; 34 tackles for a loss. The senior dominated opposing offenses, causing teams to game plan how to avoid the college prospect.

Lane Joubert, DL, Basile
One of the best defensive lineman in the area, Joubert was selected to the first team in District 5-1A. Joubert recorded 89 tackles, two forced fumbles and three sacks on the year.

Rondrekus Ben, LB, Ville Platte
Ben helped the Bulldog defense in holding opponents to under 14 points per game. The senior linebacker produced 64 tackles, including 12 for a loss. He also collected four sacks on the year.

Blaise Hebert, LB, Basile
The defensive Most Valuable Player for District 5-1A, Hebert was a monster on the field for opponents. The senior recorded an amazing 152 tackles and forced five fumbles.

Joab Perron, LB, Mamou
Perron, a junior for the Demons this past season, and Mamou’s best defensive player was a three-way starter. Perron was selected to the very competitive District 4-2A as a second team selection.

Tralon Thomas, LB, Ville Platte
Opposing offenses had to be aware of this junior linebacker. Thomas was a stalwart on a Bulldog defense that dominated teams this season. Thomas collected 127 tackles, and three sacks in 2015.

Devin Bazinet, DB, Basile
Part of a defensive unit that allowed only 24 points in five district games this past season, Bazinet was a first team all-district selection, producing 88 tackles and two forced fumbles.

Jarred Belle, DB, Basile
Belle’s athleticism allowed him to be named to the first team defense and the second team offense for District 5-1A. He was also the top kick returner for the district. Belle collected 51 tackles on defense

Dylan Doucet, DB, Pine Prairie
The senior defensive back recorded a team leading 108 tackles and three interceptions on the year, helping to lead Pine Prairie to another school record three win season.

Caleb Soileau, DB, Sacred Heart
Soileau is a two-time Evangeline Parish first team selection, having been named to the team in 2014. The senior had 56 tackles and one interception, despite being hurt during the season.

Blaise Hebert. P, Basile
Having a weapon like Hebert as a punter, kept opponents inside their territory on many occasions this season. Hebert, the District 5-1A first team punter averaged 37.7 yards per punt this past season. .
