Mamou goes to Lake Arthur to meet inconsistent Tigers

By: Lance Reed

Coming into week nine, it’s no secret things have been tough for Mamou. They have had to battle some very tough teams in a district that has two teams in Class 2A’s top ten and some other very formidable members. Mamou itself has also seen difficulties in their off-season schedule. Tough losses to Pine Prairie and Sacred Heart seemed to sour some spirits. However, the Demons have found ways to battle back and stay strong.
This week, the Demons (1-7, 0-3) head to Lake Arthur (5-3, 1-2). The Tigers have not played very consistent to this point. Their losses have come to South Beauregard in non-district and Kinder and Welsh in league play.
The Tigers are primarily a running team and will come right at Mamou. They put up 21 points a game and hold opponents to about the same score. Lake Arthur is coming off of a loss to Kinder.
Mamou has not scored many points since their week two win over South Cameron, but they look to change that. The Demons did win that game on the road, so that could be a positive going into Lake Arthur.
