Ninth ranked Welsh upends Mamou High School

On homecoming night, the ninth-ranked team in class 2A came into Mamou and made sure their presence was known early. The Welsh Greyhounds were not about to take a chance and let the Mamou Demons upset them, regardless of the fact that is was a festive night.
Welsh literally scored on their first offensive play from scrimmage and never looked back.  After getting the ball for the first time, Welsh’s Kyvonte Eaglin bolted for a 61-yard scoring run and it was all Greyhounds from there.
The 42-0 win moves the Greyhounds to 6-1 on the year and 2-0 in league play. The Mamou Green Demons fall to 1-6 and 0-2 in league competition.
Next up for the Mamou Green Machine is a home contest against the Vinton Lions.
On the year, Vinton is 5-2 and coming off of a 41-0 loss to the fifth-ranked Kinder Yellow Jackets.
