No. 4 Bearcats roll up Tarpons

The words of Basile Head Coach Tony Bertrand summed up what all players, parents and fans want to hear when it comes to playing any sport.
“We are having a lot of fun right now and it is doing wonders for us,” Bertrand stated after their road trip domination of South Cameron High School by a score of 58-19.
While the score was impressive and a bit more points than Basile is used to putting up, the most impressive number of the night was 400. That was the amount of all-purpose yards that junior athlete Kendrick Ceasar put up. He did it running the ball out of the backfield. He gobbled up 183 yards doing that. Put together with his work catching the football, running punts and kickoffs and interceptions and you could say Ceasar was everywhere.
Basile capped off an opening drive with a seven-yard run from scrimmage by Ceasar for six points, but the extra point was not good.
Moments later, South Cameron answered with a 24-yard field goal, which gave the home team a little momentum.
On the ensuing kickoff that, momentum would be stolen like a thief in the night. Ceasar took the kickoff for 96 yards and added six more points to the Basile score. The two point conversion was good. Mark Ivory hit Corbet Dupont to convert the try.
South Cameron answered later in the game with a pair of scores, but they were never able to get back in the football game.
Ivory hit Mason Deshotel for a score and later caught Ceasar for a 53-yard touchdown. Ivory totaled 105 yards in the air.
Basile’s defense also put up points when Blaise Hebert scooped a fumble and hauled it in for 17 yards.
Basile (6-0) will host Grand Lake (1-5) next week.
