The first round of the playoffs were not kind to the Pine Prairie Panthers and the Sacred Heart Trojans Friday night.
Pine Prairie traveled to Longville to take on the South Beauregard Knights in a Class 3A first round playoff game and came away an 87-70 loser.
MAMOU – More and better free throw shooting helped the Mamou Green Demons squeeze out a 65-62 Class 2A playoff win over the underdog Jeanerette Tigers here Friday evening.

LECOMPTE – The eighth seeded Mamou Lady Demons wrangled the top ranked Rapides Lady Mustangs to a 68-55 win Thursday night in Lecompte in the quarterfinal round to advance to the Top 28.

VILLE PLATTE – Slows starts have plagued the Ville Platte High Bulldog basketball team all season long and Friday night was no exception, as they defeated the Vidalia Vikings 79-58 here in a first round Class 3A playoff contest.
