Legion post, cops talk over squabble

Breaux Bridge — A brouhaha between an American Legion post and the police department here boiled to the surface briefly during last week’s City Council meeting, only to be tamped down by Mayor Jack Dale Delhomme.

Delhomme called for a meeting between Anthony Sylvester of Post 578, Police Chief Charlie Thibodeaux and Albert “Da Da” Menard, whose district contains the Legion hall at 310 Carver.

The issue is apparently whether police officers are harassing patrons at the hall or merely doing their job.
