Lavergnes celebrate 50 years

John R. and Anna Lavergne of Ville Platte celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary January 28, 2017.
Anna, the former Anna Lee Fontenot of Ville Platte, and John were married in 1967 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Fr. Joseph Brennan officiated the ceremony.
The couple has two sons. Son Jason, of Alexandria, is married to Angela (Shere) Lavergne, and they have two children, Rachel and Chance. Son Steven Lavergne, of Broussard, and wife, Dayna, have three children, Landon, Lillian and Lakelyn.
To mark their anniversary, the couple had their marriage blessed on Saturday, January 28 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the same church where they were married, with family and friends in attendance.
Following the blessing, the couple was treated to a surprise reception with family and friends.
