Goodley enters ‘not guilty’ plea

The trial of Christopher Goodley -- for the murder of his grandmother, Delsy Williams -- has been scheduled for June 8.
The trial date was scheduled when Goodley pled not guilty to the second-degree murder in the parish courthouse Thursday, January 8.
Williams was reported to be missing after family members failed repeated attempts to call her at the beginning of November. The next day her body was found in a field near Highway 29 in Evangeline Parish.
Goodley was considered a prime suspect in the murder and was found in an abandoned mobile home in Ville Platte a couple of days after Williams’ went missing.
Williams reportedly let Goodley stay in her home after he finished a two-year prison sentence at the Louisiana State Penitentiary, Angola, after being convicted of burglary and theft.
If convicted of second-degree murder in district court, Goodly could receive a mandatory life sentence.
