Mamou Police Department reports recent drug arrests

The Mamou Police Department has recently made three drug bust with the largest arrest resulting in the confiscation of marijuana, crystal meth, and multiple drug paraphernalia items.
Through an investigation the MPD learned that 34-year-old Von Dale Ardoin was in possession of narcotics, and accroding to the MPD, a permission to search was obtained to search Ardoin’s house.
It was during their search of Ardoin’s home on October 31, 2016 that MPD officers located a jar filled with marijuana, a small bag of crystal meth, a weapon, pipes and scales.
Ardoin was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of crystal meth, illegal possession of a weapon, and drug paraphernalia. Since his arrest, Ardoin has been transferred to the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The other two drug bust happened during routine traffic stops.
The first traffic stop turned drug bust occurred on November 1, 2016 and resulted in the arrest of 48-year-old August Castille.
Castille was arrested for possession of a schedule II controlled dangerous substance (CDS) with the intent to distribute.
The second routine traffic stop turned drug bust occurred on November 3, 2016 and resulted in the arrest of 46-year-old Arthur Sittig.
Sittig was booked in the Mamou jail and charged with possession of a schedule II CDS (crystal meth), possession of paraphernalia, and possession of a schedule II CDS (acetaminophen and hydrocodone).
All three individuals remain incarcerated at this time.
