Nine week school report schedule detailed by school board

The Evangeline Parish School Board discussed a major change in the upcoming school year during its meeting Wednesday, July 2.
Assistant Superintendent Darwan Lazard informed the board that instead of the long-standing, six weeks report cards, the school district will be moving to a nine week period. This means that students will receive only four report cards during the school year. However, there will also be student progress reports sent home to parents between report cards. The schedule is as follows:
•First nine weeks - Report cards will be sent out on October 22, and student progress reports will be sent on September 3, and September 24.
•Second nine weeks - Report cards will be sent out on January 15, and student progress reports will be sent on November 5, and December 3.
•Third nine weeks - Report cards will be sent out on March 25, and student progress reports will be sent on January 30, and February 25.
•Fourth nine weeks - Report cards will be sent out on May 29, and student progress reports will be sent on April 16, and May 7.
