Ward-5 Fire Chief Bobby Guilbeau issued a news release on October 16, 2017 in regard to a fireman being arrested for indecent behavior of a juvenile.
In the release, it states that the fire chief “received information that one of the district’s employees, Ezra J, Madrigal, allegedly might be having inappropriate contact with a male juvenile during working hours at the Turkey Creek Fire Station.”
After receiving this information, “an internal investigation into these allegations was immediately launched.”
According to the release, the “investigation quickly resulted in local law enforcement agencies becoming involved.”
The investigation subsequently led to “a warrant for the arrest of Ezra J. Madrigal on the charge of indecent behavior with a juvenile was issued and executed.”
Following his arrest, Madrigal was booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail. The 23-year-old was released on a $50,000.00 bond on Friday.
According to the fire chief’s release, “Madrigal was terminated by the fire department after a disciplinary hearing was held on the evening of Tuesday, October 11, 2017, based on unrelated misconduct.”
The release stated that the “investigation into this matter is still ongoing.”
Chief Guilbeau asks that the public contact Turkey Creek Police Officer Richard McMurray at (337) 461-2756 if anyone has information relative to these events.
The chief also said that “no further information will be released by the department” regarding this incident.
