Trick or treat times set for across the parish

With October drawing to a close, children across Evangeline Parish are gearing up to don their favorite Halloween costumes.
Municipalities in the parish have announced the following Trick-or-Treat times for the young ghouls and ghosts:
• Chataignier and Basile’s hours are set for Tuesday, October 31 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
• Pine Prairie’s hours are set for Tuesday, October 31 from 6:00-7:30 p.m.
• Ville Platte and Turkey Creek’s hours are set for Tuesday, October 31 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
• Mamou’s hours are set for Tuesday, October 31 from 6:00-8:30 p.m.
The Evangeline Parish Police Jury set Trick-or-Treat times in the unincorporated areas of the parish from 5:30-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31.
Local churches are again getting in on the act and are offering safe and fun trick-or-treating experiences with Bible-themed decorated trunks and games. The events called Trunk-or-Treat will take place at First Baptist Church in Ville Platte on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and at First Baptist Church, Pine Prairie on the same night from 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Heritage Manor Nursing Home and the Ville Platte Police Department are also hosting the 2017 Heritage Manor Trick-Or-Treat Event on the night before Halloween at Heritage Manor Nursing Home from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Children must be in a costume and accompanied by an adult.
