In terms of rivalries, Mamou and Pine Prairie have only been at it for as long as the Panthers have fielded a football team. Despite that, the two schools have brought that rivalry to high, albeit friendly, level over the past 10 years.

When people think of bed and breakfasts in Louisiana, they tend to think of ones in the Garden District of New Orleans or along the Cane River in Natchitoches. But now, thanks to the efforts of Maggie Eades, there will soon be one here in Ville Platte on South Soileau Street.

Second half show

VILLE PLATTE -- On Homecoming night at Bulldog Stadium, Ville Platte High welcomed the Oakdale Warriors with a similar 1-3 record. Both teams had a case of the yips in the first half as the home team led 6-0 at intermission, but the Bulldogs pulled away and won 24-0.
