Mamou Man Arrested for Vehicular Homicide Following Hit and Run Investigation
A Mamou resident returned to Evangeline Parish from his home in Texas to try to find more newspaper clips about his capture by Somalian pirates three years after he graduated from Mamou High School in 1967.
Mamou police arrested several people suspected of taking part in five recent burglaries or possessing items stolen during those burglaries.
The burglaries were reported to police in early to mid October in different areas of the town.
Trick or treat will be held one day earlier, on Wednesday, in Mamou (6 p.m. to 8 p.m.), Turkey Creek (6 p.m. to 8 p.m.) and Pine Prairie (5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.), due to rain in the forecast on Thursday.
Shoppers will have several places to hunt for garage sale bargains Saturday, November 2, in Ville Platte.
There will be four garage sales on Main Street -- Allen Ortego Town Square Park, as well as residences at 136 W. Main St., 130 E. Main St. and 1004 E. Main St.
