CROWLEY – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2008 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Melissa Harrington Cofer, 47, who died July 22, 2008 in Crowley.

Msgr. Russell Harrington pastor of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Mire will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Thursday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to the time of service. A rosary will be recited Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

She is survived by one daughter, Naomi Keen of San Antonio, Texas; one son, Bryan Cofer of Jacksonville, Fla.; her parents, Wilbur and Ella Monceaux Harrington of Crowley; three sisters, Paula Rock of Richmond, Texas, Liz Harson of Crowley, and Jo Ann Credeur of Duson; two brothers, Michael Harrington of Lafayette, and David Harrington of Crowley; and her paternal grandmother, Marie Harrington of Midland.

Melissa is preceded in death by her brother, Christopher Harrington; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Asa Monceaux; and her paternal grandfather, Harry Harrington.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made the American Cancer Society 1604 W. Pinhook Rd. Suite 182 Lafayette, LA 70508 and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley.
