Assistance requested in moving French immersion teachers to Louisiana

Evangeline Parish is starting a French Immersion Program for grades Kindergarten through first at Ville Platte Elementary and Mamou Elementary. CODOFIL has recruited three of these teachers from France and are expected to arrive within the next two weeks.

No justice; no peace

The Evangeline Parish Courthouse lawn was filled with parish residents urging that justice be served in what the group consider the uncalled for death of Dejuan Guillory at the hands of an Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Deputy.

The Gazette receives 23 awards from LPA

BILOXI -- The Ville Platte Gazette earned a whopping total of 23 awards, including six first-place honors, from the Louisiana Press Association’s Better Newspaper Competition held at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Biloxi on Saturday.
