Highlights of the March meeting of the Night VFC Club included, “Scrub-a-Dub-Dub,” a demonstration presented by Letha Vincent, Special Projects Chairman. She showed how to make a pot scrubber with nylon net and gave each member a scrubber to complete. The scrubber works well on all kinds of dishes and pots and could be an excellent item to sell at church bazaars.

Helen Leblanc, Family Life Chairmen, gave a report on “Do not Call.” It is a reminder that all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and cell phone numbers may be registered at www,donotcall.com to prevent unsolicited calls.

President Rosie Trahan opened the meeting: Lorita Bearb led in reciting the pledge of allegiance and Willie Mae Dailey led club collect. Minutes were read by secretary, Mary Ann Sagrera, and treasurer’s report by Diana Francis.

Betty Miller gave a report on Celebrating the Flavors of Rice. The event will be held on Wednesday, September 3, at the LSU AgCenter Extension Auditorium with the signing of the proclamation to kick off September Rice Month. Tickets for the event will be available on August 6 and sold for $6. Farm Bureau Auxiliary members will also contribute dishes along with Night Club members.

Letha Vincent, Achievement Day Chairmen, asked members to help to make decorations. Achievement Day will be held May 22. Night Club is in charge of the event.

AVFC Council meeting will be held on April 23 at the Rice Palace.

The Night Club will serve as hostess. Strawberry Fund Raiser Sale will be on April 9. Orders must be sold and money turned in by April 4. Packets were handed out for the 2008 LVFC Conference in Monroe April 14-19. Betty, Diana and Rosie will attend. Delicious refreshments were served by hostesses for the meeting, Lorita Bearb and Willie Mae Dailey.
