Donald Dale Fontenot Sr.

Funeral services will be held for Donald Dale Fontenot Sr., 71, of Ville Platte, at the Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ville Platte at 9:30 a.m., Monday, February 9. A graveside inurnment will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery.
A loving husband, father, brother and grandfather, Mr. Fontenot died Thursday, February 5, 2015. He devoted 21 years of his life to Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Pine Prairie as part of their maintenance crew.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Patsy LeJeune Fontenot of Ville Platte; two sons, Donald Dale Fontenot Jr. of New Orleans and John C. Fontenot and his wife, Rachelle, of Tate Cove; and one daughter, Shelia Fontenot of Brighton, Colorado. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Averton and Esabelle Hebert Fontenot; and one brother, J.L. Fontenot.
At the request of the Fontenot family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte Sunday, February 8, from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m., and again on Monday, February 9, from 8 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be recited this evening, February 8, at 6 p.m.
Father Brian Harrington will officiate.
