Emile Veillon

MAMOU - Funeral services were held for Emile Veillon, 86, of Mamou, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou at 1:30 p.m., Monday, March 21. Burial followed in the New St. Ann’s Cemetery.
A loving father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Mr. Veillon died Saturday, March 19, 2016. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include five daughters, Mary Meyers and Verna Aucoin, both of Vidrine, Elaine Veillon of Baton Rouge, Jeanette Whitacre and her husband, Ernest, of Morrow and Novella Gill and her husband, John, of Springfield, Tennessee; two siblings, Albert Veillon of Mamou and Lurline Fontenot of Oberlin; 16 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Marks Veillon; and one daughter, Diana Fontenot.
Father Alphonse Thainese officiated.
