ENA ROY DUOS

February 28, 1919 - April 28, 2017
VILLE PLATTE -- Mrs. Ena Roy Duos, of Vidrine, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017 at the age of 98. Mrs. Ena worked for Savoy Medical Center for 35 years in various departments throughout the hospital where she is best known as being a caregiver. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, and crocheting, and she found comfort in praying the rosary. She always kept busy and even mowed her own lawn with a push mower until the age of 80. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends; her specialty was homemade biscuits and homemade bread.
She is survived by her daughter, Emma Jane Duos Landry, her husband Nolan P. Landry, and her son J. Wilbur Duos and his wife Ruth B. Duos. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her grandchildren: Paula L. Whitmeyer and husband Kerry, Gregory Landry and wife Kelly, Debora L. Wooley and husband Brian, Barry Landry and wife Christine, John Duos, and Doug Duos. Mrs. Ena was further blessed with great grandchildren: Christopher Wooley, Kameron Whitmeyer, Alex Landry, Kelsey Whitmeyer, Bryce Landry, Hunter Duos, Dylan Landry, Grant Duos, Corinne Landry, and Evangeline Landry; and great-great grandchildren: Christopher David Wooley, and Lexi Wooley.
Mrs. Ena is preceded in death by her parents, Darius and Lena Fontenot; brother, Herman Fontenot; sons, James Autry Duos and Jules Kernie Duos; her first husband, Dominique Duos; and her second husband, Wilton “Bee” Savant.
Visitation was held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 30 and again on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary was recited in her honor at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte, with Father Tom Voorhies officiating. Burial followed at the Ville Platte Cemetery.
