A private family memorial service will be held for Forrest William “Billy” Waddell Jr., 69, of Mamou, at a later date. His wish was to donate his body to the Bureau of Anatomical Services and will be transported to LSU in New Orleans for medical teaching and research.
Mr. Waddell died Thursday, March 10, 2016. He was originally from Steubenville, Ohio, and moved to New Orleans at a young age. After leaving New Orleans, he lived in Mississippi for a time. He then moved his wife and four young children to Evangeline Parish, where he resided for 40 years. He was an Elvis impersonator and used his talent to raise money for cancer centers such as St. Jude’s. He will be dearly missed by all.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Mildred Marie Dupre Waddell of Mamou; one son, Forrest William Waddell III and his wife, Tanya, of Ville Platte; three daughters, Jolie Duplechin and her fiance, Bobby Carter, of Turkey Creek and Annette Granger and her husband, Jamie, and Stacey Guillory and her husband, Wayne, all of Mamou; one sister, Sue Waddell of Texas City, Texas; and one brother, Louis Waddell of Carriere, Mississippi. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest William Waddell Sr. and Florine Sprunk Waddell; one sister, Linda Frierson; and one brother, Charles Waddell.
