Gerald Duplechin Sr.

Funeral services were held for Gerald Duplechin Sr., 65, of Pine Prairie, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 3 p.m., Wednesday, July 1. Burial followed in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, Mr. Duplechin died Saturday, June 27, 2015, at his residence.
Survivors include his loving wife of 17 years, Peggy LaFleur Duplechin of Pine Prairie; three sons, Gerald Duplechin Jr. of Gries, Germany, and Derek Duplechin and his wife, Leah, and Tony Duplechin, all of Denham Springs; five daughters, Tanya Hurst and her husband, Travis, and Liza Fontenot and her husband, Todd Duncan, all of Baton Rouge, Lori Askey and her husband, Larry, of Bayou Chicot, Lanie Ledoux and her husband, Kris, of Point Blue and Dr. Lindsey Fruge and her husband, Adam, of Rayne; two brothers, John Ory Duplechin and his wife, Deannie, of St. Amant and Harold Duplechin and his wife, Trish, of Lafayette; four sisters, Ruby Barker and her husband, Bill, of The Villages, Florida, Geri Fontenot of St. Landry and Roma Toncrey and Debbie Crabtree and her husband, Gene, all of Pine Prairie; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Theolise Duplechin; one sister, Leota Marie Duplechin; and several unborn grandchildren.
