CARENCRO - Funeral services will be held for Harris John Guillory, 77, of Lafayette, at the Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro at 3 p.m., Friday, February 28. Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Gardens.
A native of Ville Platte and resident of Lafayette, Mr. Guillory died Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Lafayette General Medical Center. He was a supervisor for Southern Pacific Transportation for 16 years and also worked for Evangeline Maid Flower Industries as a salesman for 20 years. He was a warm, loving, caring family man who enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family and friends. His hobbies included restoring and working on cars, listening to French music, fishing and watching football, especially ULL, LSU, New Orleans Saints and the Green Bay Packers. He was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette McCauley of Ville Platte; one son, Robert K. Guillory of Metairie; two daughters, Tammy Guillory Bernard and her husband, Bennett, of Lafayette and Shelly Guillory Lavergne and her husband, Ricky, of Carencro; one brother, Clifford Guillory of Ville Platte; and three grandchildren, Bennett Bernard III, and John Michael Bernard, both of Lafayette, and Justin Vidrine of Carencro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Elizabeth Hill Guillory; and one brother, Lionel Guillory.
A rosary will be prayed at 11 a.m., Friday, February 28, at the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed Friday, February 28, from 9 a.m. until time of service.
