Joyce Fontenot Tate

Funeral services were held for Joyce Fontenot Tate, 94, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 1 p.m., Monday, July 27. Burial followed in the Evangeline Memorial Cemetery.
Ms. Tate died Friday, July 24, 2015, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ville Platte. She was a member of the Come Lord Jesus and Legion of Mary groups. She also was a Eucharistic minister.
Survivors include one son, Gary Tate and his wife, Annette, of Ville Platte; one sister, Louella F. Roberie of Ville Platte; three grandchildren, Paulette Tate Richard, Jason Tate and his wife, Kelly, and Leah Tate; and five great-grandchildren, Zachery Richard, Jonas Richard, Nicholas Tate, Grace Tate and Chloe Tate.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Evariste and Elmine Fontenot; her husband, William Leo Tate Jr.; one grandson, Jacob Tate; and one great-grandson, Silas Tate.
