LARRY JAMES FONTENOT

MAMOU – A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, January 11, 2017 for Larry Jones Fontenot at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou. Burial followed in the Pine Point Cemetery.
Fontenot, 73 and a resident of Mamou, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at his residence.
Fontenot was a great friend who enjoyed people. He always had a joke to tell and he never met a stranger. Fontenot was an avid LSU fan and he loved riding his Harley Davidson. He loved his family with all of his heart and he took full advantage of his time spent with them. Fontenot will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Verona Deville Fontenot; mother, Evelyn Fontenot; sons, Anthony Joseph Fontenot and wife, Sherry, and Robert Wayne Fontenot and wife, Jill; daughters, Evelyn Bellon and husband, David and Patricia Fontenot; step-children, Tony Miller and wife, Michelle, Clyde Daniel Miller and Dedee Rebecca Miller; grandchildren, Bobby Joe, Amy, Ryan, Ashley, Anthony Jr., Jennifer, Chance, Allison, Britni, Breanna, Jude, Anna, C. J., Skyley, Misty, Dustin and Destany; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, Brand J. Fontenot; first wife, Judith G. Fontenot; brothers, Frank, Donald J., Danny and Tee Dave Fontenot; and three grandchildren, Jacob, Roderick, and Phoebe.
Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou was in charge of arrangements.
