Lena Marie Franks

Funeral services were held for Lena Marie Franks, 75, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 8. Burial followed in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Ms. Franks died Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou. She began her career working in the many different aspects of the business world, including working side by side with her husband, Don, as the co-owners of The Bargain Mart. She also accomplished her goal of obtaining her real estate license. She was a homemaker later in her life, always devoting herself to the care and happiness of her beloved mother and family.
Survivors include five children, Allen Franks and his wife, Nancy, of Opelousas and Paul Franks, Claudia Ortego and her husband, Dwight, Freida Cantu and her husband, Dr. Nick, and Virginia Comeaux and her husband, Duane, all of Ville Platte. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren, Robyn Duos and her husband, Ross, Philip Ortego, Samuel Franks, Kinzey Franks, Logan Franks, Lori Wiles and her husband, Bryan, Nico Cantu and his wife, Casey, Garret Cantu, Caroline Franks, Benjaman Franks, Justin Comeaux and Allison Comeaux. She was further blessed with four great-grandchildren, Ashton Duos, Emily Duos, Reece Dardar and Gabrielle Cormier.They were truly the light of her life.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life and father of her children, her husband, Don G. Franks; her parents, Eldridge and Christine Vidrine Landreneau; and one sister, Joyce Vidrine.
Father Brian Harrington and Father Richard Vidrine officiated.
