Norma Jean “Tooty” Fontenot

Funeral services were held for Norma Jean “Tooty” Fontenot, 62, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 25. Burial followed in the Old Ville Platte Cemetery.
A devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Ms. Fontenot died Sunday, November 23, 2014, at St. Landry Extended Care Hospital of Opelousas.
Survivors include her precious children, Stacy Fontenot, Jessie Taylor and her husband, Howard, Amy Castille and her husband, James, and Michelle Fontenot, all of Ville Platte, and Belinda Fontenot and her husband, Keith, of Point Blue. Her legacy will be carried forward by her 10 grandchildren, Jordon, Doug, Wesley and Erica Fontenot, Brenda, Heather and Kim Taylor, Caitlyn Ashurst and Sylas and Ava Fontenot; they were her absolute greatest joy here on earth. Memories of her will be carried on by her siblings, Allen Gautreaux, Kenneth Gautreaux and Roland Gautreaux, all of Eunice, Nolan Gautreaux of Baton Rouge and Clara Guidry of L’anse Meg. Also left behind, a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends to remember and cherish her sweet spirit and quick wit. She will be deeply missed by all whom were lucky enough to have crossed paths with her on her all too short journey here on earth.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Joseph Scott Fontenot; her one true love, her husband, Joseph “JY” Fontenot; and her parents, Raymond and Euna Fontenot Gautreaux.
Father Brian Harrington officiated.
