RALEIGH JAMES PITRE

Funeral services for Raleigh James Pitre will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Zion Traveler
Baptist Church in Mamou. Interment will be in Zion Traveler/St. Paul Cemetery in Mamou. Rev. Allen Ben will
officiate at the services. Visiting hours will be observed from 8 a.m to 11 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at
Zion Traveler Baptist Church.
Pitre, 72, passed away Friday, January 6, 2017 at his residence in Ville Platte.
Pitre is survived by two sons, Raleigh Lamont Federick of Boston, Massachusetts and Kenneth Hayes of Houston, Texas; three daughters, Demothese Federick – McMillan (James), of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Meka Pitre – Johnson (Charles), of Houma, and Keyon Pitre – Taylor (Kenric), of Prairieville; three brothers, Henry Pitre, Jr. (Elyouna), of Opelousas, Mac L. Pitre, of Ville Platte, and Lee M. Pitre (Virginia), of Oakwood, Texas; five sisters, Elwiner Calloway (George), of St. Louis, Missouri, Brenda Toston of Ville Platte, Patricia Tezeno (Moise), of Lake Charles, Priscilla Williams, of Lake Charles, Gwendolyn Pitre - Thomas (Gilbert), of Montgomery, Texas; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-
grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pitre was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Edna Wilson Pitre; a son, Christopher Jair Pitre; a daughter, Treva Monet Pitre; a brother, Larry Pitre; three sisters, Anna Laura Pitre, Edna Jane Pitre and Juanita Pitre – Duhon.
Williams Funeral Home of Ville Platte is in charge of arrangements.
