Funeral services were held for Raymond Paul Landry, 57, of Tate Cove, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 19. Burial followed in the New St. Ann’s Cemetery in Mamou.
Mr. Landry died Monday, February 17, 2014. A devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, his quiet disposition and easy smile made everyone around him feel individually special. He was a highly respected employee of Cameron Industries for 38 years. Over those many years, he built and nurtured a myriad of close relationships with his fellow employees. His vast knowledge and easy disposition made him a favorite, a “go to guy,” who gladly gave of his own time and expertise no matter what the situation. His loss will be felt deeply by many.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Torry Fontenot of Tate Cove; and his precious daughter, Mallory Dylane Landry of Opelousas. He was also a loving step-father to Gannon Deshotels and Kelsey D. Brown and her husband, Derrick, both of Tate Cove. He will be deeply mourned by his father, Raymond C. Landry of Morgan City; and his siblings and in-laws, his mother-in-law, Mary Nell Fontenot of Mamou; his two sisters, Ellen Romero and her husband, Martin, and Wanda Plaisance and her husband, Daryl, both of Morgan City; his two brothers-in-law, Dr John Phil Fontenot and his wife, Hollye, of Opelousas and Jean Batiste Fontenot and his wife, Penny, of San Antonio, Texas; and his two sisters-in-law, Penny McDaniel and her husband, Steve, of Tate Cove and Rachel Manuel and her husband, Scott, of Mamou. His memory will be carried on by his numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Kyle David Landry; his mother, Joyce Templet Landry; and one brother, Alvin David Landry.
Father Mitchell Guidry officiated.
