Romona Marcantel Ortwein

MAMOU - Funeral services will be held for Romona Marcantel Ortwein, 73, of Mamou, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 27. Burial will follow in the New St. Ann’s Cemetery.
A wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Ms. Ortwein died Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. She was retired after 33 years at Guaranty Bank. She was also an Extra Ordinary Minister and parishioner of St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include four children, Francis “Rick” Ortwein of Woodstock, Georgia, Joseph K. “Joe” Ortwein and his wife, Cappy, of Navarre, Florida, and Ann Ortwein Runnels and Karen Vidrine and her husband, Darren, all of Mamou; one brother, Bob Marcantel and his wife, Katy, of Vidrine; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. Ortwein; her parents, Clinton and Lovenia Fontenot Marcantel; one son, Joseph Patrick Ortwein Jr.; and two grandsons, Joshua Ortwein and Brandon Runnels.
Father Mark Melancon will officiate.
