Funeral services were held for Ronald James Richard, 61, of Ville Platte, at the Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ville Platte at 2 p.m., Friday, December 20. Burial followed in the M.B. Fontenot Cemetery.
A loving father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle, Mr. Richard died Monday, December 16, 2013, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. He proudly served his country as a Marine, and it was his honor and privilege to do so.
Survivors include his two beloved sons, Ryan Richard and his wife, Heidi, and Chad Richard and his wife, Emmie; his step-son, Brooks and his wife, Amber. He was blessed with six grandchildren, Trent, Sean, Jessica, Chloe, Halie and Bryson. They were truly the light of his life. His loss will be deeply felt by his loving parents, Floyd and Beulah Pitre Richard of Lafayette; and three sisters, Lynn R. Futch and her husband, Gil, of Sunset and Gwendolyn Venable-LeBlanc and her husband, Bill, and Angela Richard D’Aquin and her husband, Steve, all of Lafayette. His memory will be treasured and carried on by his niece, Erica; and his nephews, Tommy, Jason, Justin, Josh and Gerrit. His devoted family will forever mourn his passing.
