A memorial service will be held for Roy Allen Vidrine, 69, of Ville Platte, at the Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ville Platte at 1 p.m., Thursday, September 11.
Mr. Vidrine died Monday, September 8, 2014, at his residence surrounded by his family. He served his country with great honor and pride during his time in the United States Navy. He provided for the well being of his family by working as a Wildlife and Fisheries game warden.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Billie Jean McDaniel Vidrine; and his children, Dustin Jon Vidrine and his wife, Ann, of Tyler, Texas, Jessica Rougeau and her husband, Greg, of Sulphur, Tracy Soileau and her husband, Bruce, of Eunice and Kelly V. Coe and her husband, Jr., of Rittman, Ohio. He was blessed with six grandchildren, Casey, Kelsey, Lizzie, Sadie, Aaron and Sophie; and further blessed with one great-grandchild, Mylie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Leah Vidrine; his guardians, Amede and Lizzie Fontenot; one brother, Lee Burke Fontenot; and two sisters, Lena Rae Fontenot and Marie Vidrine.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 9 a.m., today, September 11, and will continue until the time of the service.
Pastor Kevin West will officiate.
