Funeral services will be held for Ruby Vidrine, 94, of Ville Platte, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 12 noon, Saturday, March 12. Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery.
A loving mother, grandmother and friend, Ms. Vidrine died Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and Come Lord Jesus for 50 years and was also a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady Queen of all Saints Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons, James ‘’Jimmy’’ Vidrine Sr. and his wife, Glenda, and Judge John Larry Vidrine and his wife, Melanie, all of Ville Platte; and one daughter-in-law, Linda Vidrine of Ville Platte. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Loris Vidrine; her parents, Jules and Emily Roberie; one son, Ronald J. Vidrine; and her 10 siblings.
At the request of the Vidrine family, a visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will reopen Saturday, March 12, from 8 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be prayed in her honor Friday evening at 6:30 PM.
Father Mitchell Guidry will officiate.
