MAMOU - A memorial service will be held for Verdie DesHotels DuPre’, 102, of Mamou, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou at 11 a.m., Friday, October 25.
A wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Ms. DuPre’ died Thursday, October 17, 2013, at Evangeline Extended Care Hospital in Mamou.
Survivors include one son, Charles “Chuck” DuPre’ and his wife, Sherry, of Leander, Texas; two daughters, Marie D. Moore and her husband, Stan, of Booneville Arkansas, and Cecilia D. Ledoux and her husband, Sonny, of Bridge City, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elton Guillory; her second husband, Albert Jacques DuPre’; her parents, Marcellus and Attile Oretgo DesHotels; one son, Darwyn “Don” Guillory; one daughter, Alberta Cecilia DuPre’; five brothers, Darby , Elby, Edward, Darbess and Millard DesHotels; and one sister, Emily LaHaye.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Holy Spirit Chapel in Vidrine for altar service pieces in memory of Verdie DuPre’.
