Vergene Barzare Fontenot

Funeral services were held for Vergene Barzare Fontenot, 87, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Pine Prairie at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 13. Burial followed in the Platin Cemetery.
Ms. Fontenot died Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Pine Prairie.
Survivors include one son, Darrel W. Guillory and his wife, Theresa, of Vidrine; one daughter, Calvalene Hebert and her husband, Roland, of Pine Prairie; two step-daughters, Hilda Richard of Oberlin and Trixie Campbell of Point Blue; one step-brother, Vinence Deville of Ville Platte; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Enell and Erness Deshotel Barzare; her first husband, Leo Guillory; her second husband, Elbay Fontenot; and one son, Carlos J. Guillory.
Father Richard Broussard officiated.
